Phuket's wildest short hike, on the rocky cape south of Nai Harn. A 1.1 km coastal trail rolls through jungle and over headlands to Black Rock (Hin Dam), a bare clifftop hanging over the Andaman Sea. No crowds, no railings — just the sound of the surf below and an open horizon of islands and open water. Count 30 to 45 minutes each way; the path undulates and gets rough near the end, so real shoes help. Free and unmarked beyond our GPS track.

Coastal trailhead
The path leaves the coastal track above Ao Sane, slipping into the trees. It is easy to miss — follow the GPS for the first turn.

The jungle fork
A junction where a spur drops toward the water; stay on the main coastal line, keeping the sea on your right.

The cliff traverse
The trail opens onto rocky headlands with the first big sea views, undulating over roots and stone.

Black Rock
A short rough scramble leads onto the bare black clifftop: an open 180° panorama over the Andaman, the offshore islands and, at dusk, one of Phuket's quietest sunsets.
