Most travelers spend 3 nights on Koh Phi Phi — it's the perfect amount of time to see the essentials without running around. We have lived here since 2019, and here are the two routes we most often recommend: a chill plan and an active plan.
| Plan | For whom | Pace |
|---|---|---|
| Chill | Couples, families, need for rest | 1 excursion, beach, massages |
| Active | Photos, adventure, maximum islands | 2 sea trips + viewpoint |

Plan A—Chill
Day 1: smooth arrival
- Morning: ferry from Phuket (~550 THB, ~2h) or Krabi (~650 THB, ~1h30). Sit on the left side for the view at the finish.
- Noon: check-in, first meal with your feet in the sand in Loh Dalum.
- Afternoon: swimming and relaxing on Loh Dalum, nap, then Thai massage (300-400 THB/h).
- End of the day: stroll through the streets of Tonsai, sunset on the beach, dinner at the night market (100-150 THB) or in a seaside restaurant.
Day 2: the excursion, then nothing
- Morning: half-day snorkeling trip around Phi Phi Leh — Pileh Lagoon, reefs, turquoise water (~1,000 THB in a group, or privatized long-tail from 2,500 THB with your captain, to create your program).
- Afternoon: swimming pool, nap, swim again. This is the program.
- Evening: sunset at the viewpoint or on the beach, quiet dinner. On some summer evenings (June-September), the water sparkles with bioluminescent plankton — ask us if the conditions are suitable.
Day 3: last swim and departure
Slow awakening, breakfast facing the sea, last swim at Loh Dalum, and return ferry at the end of the morning.

Plan B — Active
Day 1: arrival and first islands
- Morning: same ferry, quick check-in.
- Approximately 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m.: first sea trip in the afternoon — snorkeling Phi Phi Leh or Pirate Boat (1,800 THB, musical ambiance).
- 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m.: climb to the viewpoint (30-40 min from Tonsai) for the panorama of the two bays at sunset — THE photo of Phi Phi.
- Evening: dinner with sea view, fire show on the beach.
Day 2: the big day at sea
- Sunrise option: Morning Maya (from 900 THB) — Maya Bay almost empty at dawn, the most magical time in the archipelago (excluding closure from August 1 to September 30).
- Or the full day: Magic Day by speedboat (1,800 THB, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.) — Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, Loh Samah, viewpoint and Bamboo Island, lunch included, return at sunset.
- Or underwater: baptism of diving (3,700 THB, 2 supervised dives) — the depths of Phi Phi are among the most accessible in Thailand for beginners.
- Evening: well-deserved massage, seafood dinner, a drink at the beach bar.
Day 3: market and departure
Souvenirs at Tonsai market, last coffee in front of the long-tails, return ferry late morning.

Hours to know
| Route | Typical departures | Duration | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phuket → Phi Phi | morning + early afternoon | ~2h | ~550THB |
| Phi Phi → Phuket | late morning + afternoon | ~2h | ~550THB |
| Krabi → Phi Phi | morning + early afternoon | ~1h30 | ~THB650 |
| Phi Phi → Krabi | morning + afternoon | ~1h30 | ~THB650 |
Schedules vary depending on the season and operator — check the day before, and book your ferry a day in advance rather than the same morning.

Adapt the route
This structure is a starting point: replace the speedboat trip with diving, the viewpoint with a kayaking afternoon, or the chill day with Bamboo Island. Write to us on WhatsApp with your wishes and dates — we're there, we'll tell you what's really open and beautiful that week.
