Most of Bangkok can be visited in 2-3 days (Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, floating markets, Chinatown). Our team organizes private days with a certified French-speaking guide: Ayutthaya in private, Bangkok Classic (Palais + klongs), Bangkok off-beat (Thonburi far from the crowds), gourmet tuk-tuk. Everything can be booked directly via WhatsApp, without an intermediary.

Bangkok in 5 minutes

Capital of Thailand, 10 million inhabitants, chaotic and fascinating city. You definitely get there (international flights land in Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang) — you might as well take advantage of it wisely.

Our team is based in Koh Phi Phi but also operates Bangkok excursions via a network of French-speaking partner guides. You book directly with us, in French, without going through OTAs which add 30% to the price.

Typical 3-day itinerary

Day 1: the historic heart

  • Morning (7 a.m.-10 a.m.): Grand Palace + Wat Phra Kaew (Emerald Buddha). You arrive at the opening, you escape the heat of the afternoon.
  • Authentic Thai lunch in a nearby alley.
  • Afternoon: Wat Pho (46m reclining Buddha) + river crossing by ferry to Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn).
  • Evening: traditional Thai massage + street food dinner.

📖 Private French-speaking guided format: Bangkok Classic — Palais + klongs

Day 2: Ayutthaya, ancient capital of Siam

Ayutthaya = former royal capital (1350-1767), UNESCO listed. 6 emblematic temples including Wat Mahathat (the famous Buddha head entwined in the roots).

  • Private with French-speaking guide (no bus, no group): perfect day, return Bangkok 5 p.m.
  • Included private van, certified guide, temple entrances, lunch.

📖 French-speaking private Ayutthaya — 3500-4500 THB depending on number of people 📖 Ayutthaya in a group (English) — economical option, 1500 THB/pers

Day 3: Bangkok off the beaten track

  • Floating markets Damnoen Saduak + Maeklong (market train). Half-day format, very early departure (6 a.m.).
  • Or alternative: Bangkok off-beat on the Thonburi side (Wat Paknam, Sino-Portuguese Kudeejin, amulet market) — for those who want to escape the tourist crowds.
  • Evening: dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya (the mother river). Wat Arun view + illuminated skyline.

How to get around

  • Grab (the Uber equivalent): reliable taxis, transparent prices. Download the app before arriving.
  • BTS + MRT (elevated and underground metro): fast, air-conditioned, 30-60 THB per trip.
  • Chao Phraya boats: picturesque + useful for reaching the temples (Wat Arun, Grand Palace).
  • TO AVOID: tuk-tuks that offer you a “tour” (guaranteed scam), unofficial taxis that refuse the meter.

Where to sleep: 3 neighborhoods to know

Sukhumvit (Asok, Phrom Phong, Thong Lor)

Modern, direct BTS, international restaurants. Ideal first time, business. Mid-range and high-end hotels.

Riverside (Saphan Taksin)

View of the river, luxury hotels (Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula). Quieter, easy access to the temples by boat.

Old Town (Khao San / Rambuttri)

Backpacker, atmosphere, bars. Near the Grand Palais on foot. Noisy. Ideal solo/young budget.

Why a French-speaking guide changes everything in Bangkok

3 concrete reasons:

  1. The Grand Palace without a guide = 90% of the meaning lost. The bas-reliefs tell the story of Rama, Buddhist symbolism is everywhere, the statues are specific protectors. Without historical context, you walk in a golden setting without understanding.
  2. Ayutthaya without context = just ruins. It's 400 years of royal dynasty, the Burmese sack of 1767, the art of Siam. We only send you with guides who have mastered the subject.
  3. You avoid the traps. Fake monks who beg (illegal), invented temporary closures, tuk-tuks who drop you off at a jewelry store on commission, taxis who refuse the meter. A guide naturally saves you from all that.

Everything you want to know

2-3 days for the essentials (temples, royal palace, markets, nightlife). 4-5 days if you add Ayutthaya as a day trip + floating markets + boat trip on the klongs. Beyond 5 days, Bangkok becomes repetitive unless there is a very specific interest (gastro, shopping).
