What mistakes to avoid from Bangkok to Phi Phi?
The classic mistakes: buying the ferry at the airport, arriving after the last boat, underestimating the airport-to-pier drive in Phuket, taking the speedboat if you get seasick, and booking the flight at the last minute.
Buying ferry tickets at the airport directly: 1,500-2,000 THB for a ferry sold from 650-750 THB. Unless you go combo.
Believing there is a night ferry: there is not. Last ferry around 15:00-15:30, last speedboat around 16:00. If you arrive after, sleep on the coast and leave next morning.
Underestimating airport→pier in Phuket: 1h without traffic, 1h30 in high season.
Taking the speedboat with motion sickness: vibrations + wave shocks = guaranteed nausea. Prefer classic ferry.

No, there is no airport on Koh Phi Phi. You must go via Krabi (KBV, recommended) or Phuket (HKT) then take a ferry. All other transfers (train, bus) go via Surat Thani or Krabi Town.
Count 5-6h door-to-door via Krabi: 1h20 flight, 1h airport-pier transfer, about 2h20 ferry (1h by speedboat). Via Phuket: 6-7h because the airport is farther from the pier.

If you arrive after 6pm in Bangkok, sleep one night in Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi has airport capsule hotels) and take an early flight to Krabi the next morning. The last ferry to Phi Phi leaves Klong Jilad around 15:00 (15:30 from Nopparat Thara) and the last speedboat around 16:00, beyond that, you sleep on the coast.
