Five choices, and you're booked
- The departure city: Koh Phi Phi, or Krabi / Phuket with the speedboat transfer.
- The duration: from 2h to 6h from Phi Phi, 4h or 5h from Krabi or Phuket. The price is for the whole boat, 4 people included.
- The departure time: from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, in 30-minute slots. The boat is back at the pier before 6:30 pm.
- The number of people: up to 15 per boat, +500 THB per person beyond 4, babies under 4 free.
- The meeting point: Tonsai pier, in front of the McDonald's, 15 minutes before departure; free pickup from your beach for Long Beach, Viking and Relax Beach; east/north side +1,600 THB per boat.
The itinerary (Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave, Bamboo Island, Monkey Beach…) is suggested automatically based on the duration, and you can change it however you like. Book online up until 6:00 pm the day before.
What's on board
The Thai captain (basic English, no guide on board), life jackets, masks and snorkels, fresh water and fresh fruit (watermelon, pineapple). On the 5h and 6h trips, a Thai lunch is served on board or on a beach, included in the price. For a special occasion (honeymoon, birthday, proposal) or an allergy, let us know in the booking note: we'll tell the captain.
The most authentic experience
The long tail is the traditional Thai boat, a car engine grafted onto a long propeller shaft, no upper deck, a very distinctive sound. This is Thailand as it really is. If you want the postcard feeling, this is it.
Our advice
Ideal for:
- Honeymooners: total privacy, slow pace, 2h sunset trip from 4:30 pm.
- Maya Bay without the crowds: leave between 6:00 and 7:00 am, 3h or 4h.
- Groups and families: from 2 to 15 people on the same boat, and the price per head gets very light from 6 people on.
- Modest budget: cheaper than a private speedboat.
Good to know
- Rough seas? The long tail is less stable. In the rainy season (May to October), prefer the morning slots or a speedboat.
- Distance: we don't go further than Bamboo Island (too far for a long tail).
- No roof: sunscreen, hat, swimsuit + t-shirt.
- Maya Bay is closed every year from August 1 to September 30; the captain swaps it for Pileh, Loh Samah and snorkeling.
Tip: the captain doesn't handle payment for the trip (everything is settled online), only the park fee is paid in cash to the rangers. A tip of 200 to 500 THB at the end of the trip is the local custom if everything went well.

Iconic spots like Maya Bay are far calmer early in the day. Our morning departures get you there before the midday ferry rush.
National park fees
Some sites sit inside a national park, so an entrance fee may apply. Check the “Not included” list above so there are no surprises.
Sun & reef care
The tropical sun is strong, bring a hat, sunglasses and plenty of water. Reef-safe sunscreen is required in Thai marine parks.

Swimwear under your clothes, a towel, a dry bag for your phone, and a change of clothes for the trip back.

You answer five questions, in order: where you're starting from (Koh Phi Phi, Krabi or Phuket), how many hours (from 2h to 6h), what time you leave (30-minute slots between 6:00 am and 4:30 pm, back at the pier before 6:30 pm), how many of you there are, and where the meeting point is. An itinerary is suggested based on the duration, and you can change it however you like. The price updates live, then you book and pay online.
Per boat, for 4 people included: 2h 2,500 THB, 3h 3,700 THB, 4h 4,500 THB, 5h 5,500 THB, 6h 6,500 THB. Each extra person costs 500 THB, up to 15 people per boat. Babies under 4 pay nothing but count toward the 15 spots. Examples: 6 people for 4h = 4,500 + 2 × 500 = 5,500 THB; 12 people for 6h = 6,500 + 8 × 500 = 10,500 THB.
Whenever you want, in 30-minute slots, from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. The boat must be back at the pier before 6:30 pm: a 6h trip must therefore leave by 12:30 pm at the latest, a 5h trip by 1:30 pm, a 4h trip by 2:30 pm, a 3h trip by 3:30 pm. For Maya Bay without the crowds, leave between 6:00 and 7:00 am.
Online up until 6:00 pm Thailand time the day before, whatever your departure time. After 6:00 pm for the next day, message us on WhatsApp: the team on the ground can sometimes still find a boat.

At Tonsai pier, in front of the McDonald's, 15 minutes before departure: our team will be waiting there with your captain. If you're staying at Long Beach, Viking or Relax Beach, the boat picks you up directly from your beach, at no extra charge. On the east or north side of the island (Phi Phi Village, Saii, Zeavola, The Beach), the boat also comes to your beach, with a surcharge of 1,600 THB per boat.
Yes. Choose Krabi or Phuket as your departure city in the configurator: we'll organize the day with the round-trip speedboat and hotel pickup (extra, per person). On site, the long tail trip lasts 4h or 5h, between the speedboat's arrival and the return boat.
15 people per boat, babies included, with +500 THB per person beyond 4. Beyond 15, we arrange two boats: message us on WhatsApp and we'll work out the total for you.
Yes, from any age with calm seas: prefer the morning slots. There are no toilets on board, the engine is noisy, and in rough seas passengers can get splashed. Babies under 4 travel free; children aged 4 to 11 pay the 200 THB park fee.
Long tail = traditional Thai boat, about 20 km/h, very authentic, noisy but charming engine. Speedboat = faster, about 40 km/h, more comfortable but less typical. For the Thai vibe, go long tail; to cover a lot of ground, go speedboat.
That's up to you. As a rough guide: 45 minutes at Maya Bay, 30 minutes at Pileh, 45 minutes of snorkeling, 30 minutes at Monkey Beach, an hour at Bamboo Island. The configurator will tell you if your plan fits within the chosen duration.
