All the details
A sporty cycling trip from Chiang Mai: a climb to Mon Tha Than Waterfall on the slopes of Doi Suthep, or a big 90 km loop through the Samoeng countryside. Bike, helmet, English-speaking guide, lunch, support vehicle and transfer included.
Why choose this trip
- For cyclists: two genuinely sporty road trips, a step up from sightseeing rides.
- Doi Suthep from a different angle: climb to Mon Tha Than Waterfall, a swim, and the option to continue to the temple at 1,200 m.
- The Samoeng loop: 90 km around the national park, through forests and countryside, followed by a long descent back into the valley.
What's included in the day
- Mon Tha Than Waterfall: departure from the city centre, a climb on the slopes of Doi Suthep, a swim at the waterfall, then a descent through the foothills with a visit to Wat Umong. Optional climb up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep before lunch.
- Samoeng loop: departure at 8:30 AM, about 1 hour on flat roads followed by a long climb to the west side of the park (2.5 hours), a light lunch on the north side, and a big descent back down into the valley. Return around 5:30 PM.
Good to know
These trips are for cyclists in good shape. A vehicle follows the group and keeps your belongings safe. Bring sportswear, extra water in hot weather, and cash for the park fee or insurance.
Before you go
Good to know
Beat the crowds
Iconic spots like Maya Bay are far calmer early in the day. Our morning departures get you there before the midday ferry rush.
National park fees
Some sites sit inside a national park, so an entrance fee may apply. Check the “Not included” list above so there are no surprises.
Sun & reef care
The tropical sun is strong, bring a hat, sunglasses and plenty of water. Reef-safe sunscreen is required in Thai marine parks.
What to pack
Comfortable shoes, light breathable clothing, water and a small backpack for the day.
