Annual closure (1 Aug – 30 Sep): during the monsoon, Maya Bay is admired from the water — no landing. Swimming and snorkelling take place at Pileh Lagoon and Loh Samah instead; the rest of the itinerary is unchanged.
Annual closure of Maya Bay — August 1 to September 30. During the monsoon, Maya Bay is closed to landing by the national park. During this period, we admire the bay from the water and swimming/snorkeling is done at Pileh Lagoon and Loh Samah; the rest of the program is unchanged.
The essential if you are based in Phuket
This excursion is the most requested from Phuket — you see the highlights of the Phi Phi archipelago in one day, without sleeping there.
Our advice
If you have 2 days or more in Phuket, also compare the Premium Catamaran tour (3,900 THB) which is longer, more comfortable, with buffet and sunset. For a compact day at a reasonable price, stay on the speed boat.
Namely
- Long day: 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., it's intense.
- Maya Bay in high season: 30+ boats, crowded beach. The only way to be calm is to arrive at 7 a.m. (only possible by sleeping in Phi Phi).
- Sometimes rough seas: in May-October, bring an anti-nausea medication if you are sensitive.
Tip: if your itinerary includes 2-3 nights in Phi Phi, do a Golden Day there instead (1,700 THB) — same content, more authentic, without the return trip to Phuket.

Before you go
Good to know
Prone to seasickness?
Take a tablet ~30 min before departure, sit mid-boat, keep your eyes on the horizon and avoid heading out on an empty stomach.
Beat the crowds
Iconic spots like Maya Bay are far calmer early in the day. Our morning departures get you there before the midday ferry rush.
National park fees
Some sites sit inside a national park, so an entrance fee may apply. Check the “Not included” list above so there are no surprises.
Sun & reef care
The tropical sun is strong — bring a hat, sunglasses and plenty of water. Reef-safe sunscreen is required in Thai marine parks.
What to pack
Swimwear under your clothes, a towel, a dry bag for your phone, and a change of clothes for the trip back.
Book direct vs. platforms
