Annual closure (1 Aug – 30 Sep): during the monsoon, Maya Bay is admired from the water — no landing. Swimming and snorkelling take place at Pileh Lagoon and Loh Samah instead; the rest of the itinerary is unchanged.

Tip: keep some battery on your phone for the sunset, but leave it on the beach for the plankton swim — it's a moment to live, not to film, and salt water doesn't like electronics.

Prone to seasickness?
