A full evening, just one reservation

This tour is the best way to cover 3 cultural experiences of Chiang Mai in one evening:

  • A local temple (religious culture).
  • The Nordic street food market (cuisine).
  • Muay Thai live (national sport).

Muay Thai — national sport

Muay Thai (“Thai boxing”) is the national sport of Thailand. It is an ancient martial art, with an entry ritual for boxers (wai khru, ram muay) accompanied by traditional music (sarama). Each fight begins with a dance of respect.

Our advice

  • Comfortable attire — but respect the temples in the early evening (shoulders + knees covered).
  • Appetite — plan to be hungry for the market (the meal is plentiful).
  • Cash 500-1,000 THB for extras (beers, possible bets, souvenirs).

Our tip: Ask for Thapae Stadium rather than Chiang Mai Stadium — more authentic atmosphere, more local crowd.

Before you go

Good to know

  • Beat the crowds

Iconic spots like Maya Bay are far calmer early in the day. Our morning departures get you there before the midday ferry rush.

  • National park fees

Some sites sit inside a national park, so an entrance fee may apply. Check the “Not included” list above so there are no surprises.

  • Sun & reef care

The tropical sun is strong — bring a hat, sunglasses and plenty of water. Reef-safe sunscreen is required in Thai marine parks.

  • What to pack

Comfortable shoes, light breathable clothing, water and a small backpack for the day.

Frequently asked

Full contact sport — punches, kicks, knees, elbows. Not usually bloody but intense. If you are sensitive, take a seat in the upper stands. Children sometimes go there but not recommended under 12 years old.
