Discover Koh Samui, its coconut-palm beaches and the islands of the Gulf of Thailand. Book Ang Thong Marine Park, Koh Tao, Pig Island or a jeep safari with Phi Phi Paradise.
In the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui is one of the country's largest islands and one of the easiest to reach, thanks to its own airport. Its coconut-lined beaches circle the island: Chaweng and Lamai for lively nightlife, Bophut with its fishing village charm, and Maenam for peace and quiet. The mountainous, jungle-covered interior hides waterfalls, viewpoints and temples, like the Big Buddha or the mummified monk at Wat Khunaram. But Samui is above all an ideal base for exploring the Gulf: Ang Thong Marine Park with its dozens of limestone islands, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan, or the smaller southern islands like Koh Madsum, known as Pig Island. We've handpicked tours by private boat and jeep, with local crews and guides and hotel pick-up included.

Koh Samui doesn't follow the same calendar as Phuket or Koh Phi Phi, making it a great complement to the Andaman coast. From January to September, the weather is generally dry and sunny. January to April is ideal for the sea, with calm, clear waters; March and April are the hottest months. From May to September, while the monsoon hits the Andaman side, Samui often stays pleasant, with passing showers and a manageable sea. The real rainy season arrives from October to December, peaking in November: heavy rain, wind and rough seas can then change or cancel boat trips, with the captain deciding based on the weather. It's warm all year round, roughly between 28 and 32°C.
Protected islands, lagoons, secret beaches and jungle: here are our favourite trips from Koh Samui, by private boat for your group or by 4x4 jeep, with pick-up from your hotel.
Ang Thong Marine Park by Private Speedboat
A day in the Ang Thong archipelago, more than 40 protected islands: limestone cliffs, sea caves, white sand coves and the turquoise lagoon of Emerald Lake. A luxury speedboat just for your group, with snorkelling, cold drinks and fruit on board.
Jungle Safari by 4x4 Jeep · Group or Private
Samui's interior by open-top jeep: the Hin Ta Hin Yai rocks, the mummified monk at Wat Khunaram, Na Muang Waterfall, mountain tracks and a scenic lunch. Join a group, or book a private jeep for 2 to 10 people, at your own pace.
Three Islands by Private Thai Boat · Koh Rap, Pig Island & Koh Taen
Departing from Thong Krut, in the south of the island, a traditional Thai boat just for your group heads to three islets: the white sand of Koh Rap, the free-roaming pigs of Koh Madsum and the shallow reef of Koh Taen. A simple, authentic trip, great for families.
Koh Tao & Koh Nang Yuan by Private Speedboat
Head north to the reefs of Koh Tao for snorkelling, then on to Koh Nang Yuan, three islets linked by a white sandbar, with its famous viewpoint. The furthest trip from Samui, by private luxury speedboat.
Koh Phangan by Private Speedboat · Half Day or Full Day
Four or eight hours exploring Koh Phangan's bays, some only reachable by sea, or along Samui's own coastline. Swim and snorkel stops chosen by the crew, depending on the sea conditions.
Koh Tan & Pig Island by Private Speedboat
Two small islands south of Samui, less than an hour away: the peaceful beaches and coral of Koh Tan, then Koh Madsum and its beach pigs. A relaxed day out by luxury speedboat, for up to 12 people.
Fishing & Snorkelling by Private Thai Boat
Line and trolling fishing around Koh Taen and Koh Madsum, a barbecue of your catch on board, and snorkelling on the reef. Equipment, lunch and transfer included, for up to 11 people.
Sunset Cruise by Private Speedboat · 2.5 Hours
A private late-afternoon cruise towards Koh Som, aboard a modern speedboat with sun decks, a shaded lounge, cold drinks and snacks. Perfect for a birthday, a proposal or a last night in Samui.

Koh Samui has its own international airport, with direct flights from Bangkok taking around 1 hour, plus some connections to other cities in Thailand and Asia. The alternative, often cheaper, goes via Surat Thani on the mainland: a flight or night train from Bangkok to Surat Thani, then a bus to the Don Sak pier and a ferry to Samui, taking around 1.5 hours. From the Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi, Koh Phi Phi), combined bus and ferry tickets reach Samui within the day. Boats also connect Samui to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, handy for island hopping around the Gulf. Locally, taxis, songthaews and scooters run along the ring road, and our tours include pick-up from your hotel.
Each coast of Koh Samui has its own character. Chaweng, on the east coast, is the most famous and liveliest beach, with restaurants, shops and nightlife. Lamai, further south, still has a lovely beach but a slightly more relaxed vibe. To the north, Bophut charms with its fishing village and wooden houses turned into restaurants, while Maenam offers a long, quiet beach. Choeng Mon, in the north-east, is popular with families for its small, sheltered bays. The south and west, around Lipa Noi and Taling Ngam, are the most peaceful, with beautiful sunsets over the sea. Our tours pick up travellers across the island's main areas: just let us know your hotel or villa when booking.
