Fewer visitors, higher value: the quiet premiumisation of Krabi
Krabi has not simply recovered — it has changed gear. With 84% of its 2019 foreign visitor volume, the province already generates 91% of its 2019 foreign revenue. Average spend per foreign visitor rose from 18,222 THB (2019) to 19,800 THB (2025), +8.7%. On the water, this matches what we see every week: more private charters, more multi-day island programmes, fewer one-day mass tours.
Seasonality in 2025
April 2025 was the strongest month of the 2024–2025 series with 458,018 foreign visitors. Occupancy peaked in December (80.9%) and January (80.8%). The quietest months were September (58.8% occupancy) and July (59.1%) — which is also when the islands are at their calmest.
